My wife and I decided several months ago to start the process of adopting our first child. We've tried for our own children for the last four and a half years and have struggled with infertility. We really feel that adoption is exactly what we want to do and we're so excited about taking this next step to build our family!
Over the next few date nights we sat down and really planned out a campaign to raise money to bring our baby home. I wanted to use my gifts, the gifts of my friends, and the relationships I have with some really awesome vendors, to help make this happen. My main focus was on making original artwork that ties back to what we're doing, is designed really well and would feel like a branded campaign.
We have had awesome artists like Benny Gold, Allan Peters, Jacob Boyles, Lindsey Hudlow, Lisa Oliver, Kelsey Estrada, and Wellington Payne be willing to donate designs for prints, journals and t-shirts. The vendors that really made it possible were The Olive Press (journals), Shed Labs (prints), and Amb3r (t-shirts). We really couldn't have made any of these things without their generosity.
In the first two days, we raised $1,642. Our first milestone is $2,000, which will allow us to fill out our formal adoption application. It has been so exciting to see so many friends, family, and even strangers support us through this!
